Position: Gymnastics Team Coach
Rate $17.00/hour

Foothills Park & Recreation District is seeking an Optionals and Compulsory Gymnastics Team Coach. This position is responsible for training and coaching advanced gymnasts and will assist with the supervision and instruction of the gymnastics programs and coaching gymnastics CARA (Colorado Association of Recreational Athletes) teams. The position will keep accurate attendance records, develop lesson plans, learn and teach team routines, be present at all CARA team gymnastics practices and meets, and evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all participants.
Optional Gymnastics Team practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 pm-6:30pm and during the Gymnastics season (May-August) practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays 8:15-10:45 am and meets are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Coaches must be consistently available to coach practices and meets.
Compulsory Gymnastics Team practices are 8:15- Noon (May-August) and 4:30-8:30 the rest of the year. Meets are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Coaches must be constantly available to coach practices and meets.

Requirements
Required Experience:
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Experience and ability to coach youth gymnasts in advanced techniques including beginner flight skills and twists.
- One (1) year of previous experience in structured gymnastics programming.
- Experience with supervising children ages 6 to 18 years old preferred.
- Background in athletics, teaching, coaching and/or competing in gymnastics preferred.
- Concussion recognition training is required prior to employment and must be renewed annually.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are preferred.
- CARA Safety Awareness certificate is required prior to competition season.
